Fire Risk Assessments
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 is the main Fire Safety legislation in England and Wales. For ease of language, the title is often abbreviated to The Fire Safety Order, or FSO. In 2005, in order to simplify Fire Safety as a whole, this law came about to replace 70 other pieces of disjointed legislation.
The FSO states that a "competent person" must carryout a Fire Risk Assessment (FRS). This is where we come in. We will take the responsibility for carrying out your FRS on your behalf. We will ensure that your premises are safe and write a report and an action plan to rectify any issues you may have, keeping you and your business safe and compliant with the FSO.
We specialise in Type 1 and Type 3, None Destructive Fire Risk Assessments. This means that we do visual checks, without removing any of the fabric of the building.
Type 1 Fire Risk Assessments
The Type 1 Assessment is none destructive and covers non domestic business premises and the common/communal areas of some residential units, such as Houses of Multiple Occupancy (HMO).
Type 3 Fire Risk Assessments
Type 3 Assessments cover both common/communal areas and the interior of individual flats or private rooms in HMOs.
