What Level of First Aid Training Do I Need?

There are two main First Aid Training courses available, the one day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) - staff will be trained to administer Emergency First Aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill whilst at work. The three day First Aid at Work (FAW) - staff will be qualified to EFAW level, but will also be able to administer treatment to people with a range of specific injuries or illnesses.

While FAW is often seen as the superior course, both are considered Level 3 qualifications by Ofqual. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) does not stipulate which qualification you should choose, but does state that you are responsible for ensuring whoever trains your staff is competent.

According to the HSE, "Qualifications should be regulated from an awarding organisation, recognised and regulated by Ofqual, the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) or the Welsh Government." At Jade, all our qualifications are accredited by FAA, so meet all of these requirements.

"Independent training where the provider can prove their competence." With Jade, you know you're getting the best training possible. All our instructors have years of operational, hands on, experience and the relevant qualifications and training, making them subject matter experts. Not only does this meet the HSE requirements of competence, but also adds extra depth and context to the learning, keeping it relevant, fresh and interesting.
